英語で「一時的に」は、“temporarily” を使って表現することができます。

ジェシカのセリフも以下のように表現できます。

“I have to take care of my coworker’s tasks temporarily because she is on vacation.”
（同僚が休暇中のため、一時的に彼女の仕事を処理しなければならない。）

“temporarily” は形容詞の “temporary”（一時的な）と共に、ラテン語の “tempus”（時間）という言葉が語源になっています。なお “temporary” は、“temporary worker”、“temp staff” など、派遣社員や臨時雇いの従業員を意味する言葉としてもよく使われます。

ちなみに “temporarily” の反対の「永久に」という意味の副詞は、“permanently” といいます。

“I fixed the roof temporarily, but I need to call a repairman to fix it permanently.”
（屋根を一時的に修理したが、恒久的な修理には業者を呼ぶ必要がある。）
