Elena: I’ve been watching this great new TV show.
Damon: Oh yeah? What is it about?
Elena: It’s about this guy who tries to find his first love.
Damon: Sounds like a drag.
Elena: It’s so romantic. He leaves no stone unturned trying to find her.
Damon: And does he find her?
Elena: Hey, my lips are sealed. You’ll have to watch it if you want to know.
Damon: I don’t want to know that badly…
Elena: Sure you do.
Damon: I’m not going to watch the show, so you might as well tell me.
Elena: Come on, you’re dying of curiosity, aren’t you?
Damon: Fine, I’ll watch it with you.

キーフレーズ
“(sounds/seems) like a drag” 退屈そうである
あることが退屈そうであったり、あまりおもしろくなさそうであることを言うために使われるフレーズです。
例）DarrenがAbbyをボーリングに誘っています。
Darren: Hey, Abby! Do you want to go bowling tomorrow?
Abby: Seems like a drag. I’m not really into bowling.
Darren: ねえ、Abby！明日ボーリングに行かない？
Abby: 楽しくなさそう。ボーリングってあんまり興味ないのよ、私。

“leave no stone unturned” あらゆる手段を講じて探す
できるだけの手を尽くして、自分が求めているものを探すことを意味するフレーズです。
例）Coleと兄のFinnが妹のRebeccaについて話しています。
Cole: Did you hear? Rebecca lost her phone again.
Finn: Oh, I’m sure she’ll find it. She’ll leave no stone unturned.
Cole: 聞いた？Rebeccaがまた携帯なくしたんだって。
Finn: まあ、見つかると思うけど。あいつ徹底的に探すだろうから。
Cole: Did you hear? Rebecca lost her phone again.

“(someone’s) lips are sealed” 秘密を守る
自分が知っている秘密などを決して人に漏らさないということを言う際に使われるフレーズです。
例）DawnとボーイフレンドのConnorは婚約することに決めたところです。
Dawn: Don’t tell anyone yet, OK? I want to tell my parents first!
Connor: Don’t worry, my lips are sealed.
Dawn: 誰にも言っちゃだめよ、わかった？まずは両親に伝えたいから。
Connor: 心配しないで、秘密は絶対守るよ。

“die of curiosity” 知りたくてたまらない
ある事柄について強い関心があり、どうしてもそれを知りたいと思っていることを言うために使われるフレーズです。
例）RachelleとCarinaが最近読んだ小説の話をしています。
Rachelle: I can’t believe the book ended there! I want to know what happens next.
Carina: I know, I’m dying of curiosity.
Rachelle: あそこで終わっちゃうなんて信じられない。続きがどうなるか知りたいわ。
Carina: ほんとに、すごく興味ある。
Rachelle: I can’t believe the book ended there! I want to know what happens next.
