英語で「遠足」は、“school trip” や “field trip” などを使って表現することができます。

ジェシカのセリフも以下のように表現できます。

“I have so many good memories from the school trips we went on during high school.”
（高校の時に行った遠足は、いい思い出がたくさんある。）

“school trip” は、レクリエーションや楽しみを目的とした旅行の場合にも、見学や研修などの教育を目的とした旅行の場合にもどちらにも使うことができる表現です。一方、“field trip” は、主に教育・学習を目的とした旅行に用いられます。どちらの表現も、「遠足」以外に「修学旅行、社会科見学」などの意味でも使うことができます。

“We went on a field trip to a local orchard to learn about growing fruit.”
（社会科見学で地域の果樹園に行き、果樹栽培について学んだ。）

ちなみに “excursion” も「小旅行、遠足」などという意味で使われる表現です。ただ ”excursion”は、学校における旅行・遠出に限らず、一般的な行楽のための旅行にも用いられます。

“The hotel we will be staying organizes excursions to the nature reserve. Do you want to book one?”

また “outing” も「遠足、外出、ピクニック」などという意味で使われる表現で、”excursion”と同じく学校の行事以外にも使うことができます。“outing” は主に日帰りなど短い時間での外出や散策などに対して使われます。

“We’re going on an outing to Natural History Museum on Monday.”
（月曜日に自然史博物館へ遠足に行きます。）
