（1）分かる、知る
“find out” には「（情報を）発見する、わかる、気がつく」といった意味や「（情報を）知る・調べる」といった意味があります。
- Can you find out where the restaurant is?
- そのレストラン、どこにあるのかわかった？
- I always use this app to find out when the last train is leaving.
- 終電の時間を調べるのに、私はいつもこのアプリを使ってるよ。
- We found out that we both went to the same high school.
- 私たちは同じ高校に通っていたことがわかった。
- I found out the meaning of ‘find out’ today.
- 私は今日 “find out” の意味がわかった。

- What’s the name of the actor who played the scientist?

“find out” と “find” の違いって？
“find out” は、何かしらの「情報」を見つけたり、得た場合に使われる一方、“find” は「情報」以外の抽象的なものや概念（例：”love”、”hope”など）、物理的なものを見つける場合に使われます。
よって、“find out” が「（物理的なものを）見つける」という同様の意味で使われることはありません。
- The adopted child found out who her real parents are.
- 養子縁組されたその子供は、本当の両親が誰なのか（情報として）わかった。
- The adopted child found her real parents.
- 養子縁組されたその子は、本当の両親を（実際に）見つけた。
- The archaeologists are still trying to find out the meaning of the strange symbols they found.
- その考古学者たちは、発掘された奇妙な記号が何を意味するのか、それを解き明かそうと未だに挑んでいる。

“find out” と “figure out” の違いって？
“figure out” は、ある事柄について、自分で考えたり実際に実験してみるといった過程を経て、自分の内側から「わかる」ことを意味します。これは、例えば教科書に書いてあったり、先生から教えてもらうといった外部情報を得て「わかる」のではなく、自身の努力で「わかる」ことを表します。
- I found out how to use the remote control by reading the manual.
- マニュアルを読んで、リモコンの使い方がわかった。
- I finally figured out how to use the remote control after two hours of trial and error.
- 二時間あれこれ試行錯誤しながら使ってみて、やっとリモコンの使い方がわかった。
（2）見破る、見抜く
“find someone out” には、「悪巧みや不正を見破る」「正体を見抜く」「悪事の犯人を見つける」といった意味があります。
- Just as I was about to escape, they found me out.
- 私が逃げようとしたちょうどその時、彼らに見つかった。
- She was planning to rob the store, but the detective found her out first.
- 彼女は店に強盗に入る計画を立てていたが、刑事が事前にそれを突き止めた。
- They found him out before he could act on his evil plans.
- 彼が悪巧みを実行に移す前に、彼らがそれを見破った。
